What is a Knit Along

Knit-a-longs or Knit Alongs (AKA KALs) are a great way to knit together with a group, even if it’s just virtually.

A knit along is a an event where knitters gather in person or virtually to start and finish the same project together. This is a great way to encourage them to finish said garment and ask / answer questions along the way.

The rise of the Knit Alongs is evident all throughout social networks now.

Many knitters and crocheters alike (for crochet they are called CALs, of course) are taking charge and creating their own version of a KAL for their friends, followers/ fans.

KALs are also a very popular topic on Ravelry. You can join a great call inside Groups, like KAL Fanatics. There are many ongoing ones and we just posted our February one there : The Simple Short Capelet

So there are many ways to join a KAL. You can simply Google terms like: February KAL, KALs, KAL Forums and you’ll find a ton of them. The secret is knowing which way you prefer to join one: do you prefer to keep track of a forum, join a Facebook Group or keep progress on YouTube?

We have created a new KAL for the month of February, were we’ll be making a super simple yet stunning project: The Short Simple Capelet:

Starting Date: February 11th until February 28th (with room to allow others to finish).
